Our Story

The Clean Water Co was born out of a simple realisation: the water coming out of most New Zealand taps isn't the perfect drinking water and we struggled to find a solution or filter to fix it.

After digging deep on what’s really in our drinking water, our founder got curious enough to actually test our local tap water. Hills Laboratories ran the analysis and the results didn’t align with the ideal water for consumption.  The ideal water for consumption has been carried out with multiple peer reviewed research papers with the likes of health advocate Dr Andrew Huberman outlining an example of what 'ideal water' looks like.  More research and growing evidence has proven that some contaminants found in drinking water link to long-term impacts on wellbeing, hormonal health and fertility.

What followed was years of testing filtration systems, importing products, and hitting the same wall: most of what was on the market couldn't remove all the bad stuff, and the devices that could stripped away all the good stuff. Reverse osmosis was the most effective method — but pure RO water strips out beneficial minerals too, so that wasn't the complete answer either.

So we built our own.

Working directly with a manufacturer, we developed an RO system that removes the contaminants and then remineralises the water — giving you something genuinely clean and genuinely safe to drink.  Our water is backed by independent lab tests and offers the solution of safe drinking water for New Zealand families.  We wanted this device to be accessible and transportable so no plumbing is required, no permanent installation, and compact enough to move with you when you move house.

We're a NZ-owned company and our goal is straightforward: make clean drinking water accessible for every New Zealander, not just those with the right kitchen setup or the budget for an expensive install.
